night sky photo tours

Interested in photographing the night sky? We can help! Join us for an out-of-this-world evening under the incredibly dark night skies of Acadia National Park, where we will teach you how to create images that capture both the wonder of the cosmos and the rugged landscapes of Acadia.

We will tailor each tour based on how much instruction you are looking for, whether you are brand-new to night sky photography or an experienced nightscaper. However, knowledge of basic camera functions like ISO, shutter speed, and aperture, as well as the ability to operate your camera in the dark will allow us to focus on the fun part, taking pictures!

What you'll need:
- DSLR or mirrorless camera
- Fast, wide-angle lens
- Sturdy tripod and head
- Headlamp with a red beam function

Included with this workshop is an instructional video that will walk you through how to use Adobe Photoshop to combine the images we'll capture in the field into a high-quality final product.

Night sky photo tours are offered daily (nightly) year round, but we'll get the best results if scheduled when the moon isn't in the sky (usually from about a week after the full moon until a few days after the new moon. If in doubt, contact us and we'll be happy to help you pick out a date.

Cancellations:
Unfortunately night sky photography is highly reliant on clear skies. We will make every effort to reschedule if conditions on your scheduled night are not favorable for photography, but if rescheduling is not possible we will refund you in full.
