Big Reed Forest Reserve

Welcome! Below you will find a gallery of images I took while writing a pair of articles for the Natural Resources Council of Maine about a very special place in Maine's North Woods: the Big Reed Forest Reserve. Big Reed is a 5,000 acre block of unharvested old growth forest, the largest contiguous tract of old growth east of the Mississippi. Read all about my visit to the forest here, and learn about the reclamation of Big Reed Pond here.
